Ballyhaunis June BH Festival

Ballyhaunis annual Summer Festival preparations are well underway.  Lots of activities are being arranged for what is always a fantastic weekend.  The main weekend is June 2nd to June 4th, with activities before and after these dates:

Wednesday May 26th – Ballyhaunis Sings – Mayo International Choral Festival, The Friary @ 8pm

Sat 27th May – Sun 4th June – Art Exhibition, The Friary 2-5pm

Wednesday 31st May - Grace Notes Summer Concert, The Friary @ 8pm

Tuesday 30th May – Mayo AC 5k Summer Series, Ballyhaunis Rugby Club @ 8pm

Friday 2nd June – Ballyhaunis Inter-Pub Quiz @ 9pm, support your local Pub

Saturday 3rd June – Come & Try Sports Day, Ballyhaunis GAA grounds 1-4pm

Sunday 4th June – Traditional Fair Day with Stalls, Demonstrators, BBQ, Music, Dance, Acrobatic Show + Walk about, Dog Show, Modified Car Show, Vintage Machinery, Facepainting, Pet Farm, animals, Scoil Iosa Art Exhibition + lots more till 5pm

Saturday 17th June – Ballyhaunis 10 year celebratory 8k run/walk, Ballyhaunis Rugby Club @ 5.30pm

Fri 2nd – Mon 6th June - Mounts Funfair, Knox St. Car Park

A huge thank you to all the volunteers who helped to set up the activities for the Ballyhaunis Festival and the participants who all make it a wonderful weekend, and to our Main Sponsors, Dawn Meats and the Premium Butchers, Cllr. John Cribbin, Mayo County Council & First Choice Credit Union.  To all the Publicans taking part in the Inter-Pub Quiz and all involved in its smooth running - Paula Donnellan, Seamus Caulfield, Tommy Caulfield, Jim Lundon, Tom Egnay, John Gill & Ballyhaunis LGFA, Mayo Sports Partnership & Ballyhaunis Sports Network, Dan Tarpey, John Joe Lilly Vintage Tractors, Mary Elwood School of Dancers, MSPCA Dog Show, Noel Byrne Modified Car Show, to the Festival Committee & the Gentlemen who set up and take down the Stalls.  To Ballyhaunis GAA Club, The Abbey Partnership & Dawn Meats Ballyhaunis for the use of their grounds for festival activities.  A prize draw will be held to raise funds for said festival where by lines will be sold in your local Pubs, €2 a line or 3 for a €5, 1st prize 2 x Connacht Final Tickets kindly sponsored by Connacht Council, €50 Ballyhaunis Shopping Voucher kindly sponsored by Hidden Treasures and a Mini-Hamper kindly sponsored by Fordes Ltd & JGs Barbers.  This years Window Display is “Irish Farm Life” incorporating Yellow & Sunflowers to raise awareness for the Mayo Roscommon Hospice.   So please join us for what is always a fantastic Festival in Ballyhaunis.
